Konfidence
'Name the Dolphin' Competition - UK 2008
|
We are delighted to announce the start of our third annual
'Name our Dolphin' competition this month in association with WDCS, the
Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society.
The prize this
year is bigger and better than ever! In addition to a dolphin adoption with
WDCS, once again paid for by Konfidence until the winner reaches 18 years old,
the winning entrant will also receive a long
weekend of dolphin watching for a family of 4 as the guest of WDCS, also paid
for by Konfidence. This will be at WDCS's flagship Wildlife Centre in the
Moray Firth, Scotland. You see fuller details of this terriffic weekend by
clicking
here.
However it will consist of the following:
Day 1: Travel to Inverness to be met by WDCS
guide. Transfer to Cromarty on the Black Isle. Late afternoon dolphin-watch.
Welcome evening meal and slide show. Day 2: Day trip to visit the
WDCS Wildlife Centre in Spey Bay. Afternoon dolphin-watching trip.
Day
3: Coastal walk plus shore and boat based dolphin-watching from Cromarty.
Day
4: Departure to Inverness for return journey. For those travelling home in the
late afternoon we will visit Chanonry Point, a great spot for shore-based
dolphin-watching, to meet Charlie Phillips, an award winning photographer and
WDCS field officer.
The weekend includes dolphin watching boats trips,
visits to known sites where dolphins can regularly be seen, meals,
accommodation and transport to and from your base for the weekend; a stunning
converted 18th century brewery.

All you have to
do is win the competition and get yourself and your family to Scotland!
Competition entrants are asked to think of a name for the dolphin that features
in the Konfidence brand logo. Last years winner, Jinnie, won with the name
'Merphin' and as a result received a family ticket to the UK theme park of her
choice. The year before Laura won with 'Quikfinz'. In addition, both winners
received dolphin adoptions from WDCS, paid for by Konfidence, until they reach
18 years old. The competition is open to anyone who resides in the United
Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
So now is the time to put your thinking caps on,
be creative and think outside the box. Some previous noteworthy entrants came
up with Dil'N'Poh, Bowrider and our left field favourite 'Mustard Lovely Fins'.
"When we started this competition in 2006, we had no idea it
would be so well received," said Andy Regan, MD of Konfidence Int, "the
enthusiasm shown by all the entrants is astonishing. We love the idea of
engaging kids in such a worthwhile initiative and in turn, making a small
contribution to the preservation and well being of these extraordinary animals.
I think we can learn a great deal from them. We hope to be able to add a Roll
of Honour and Gallery of all the pictures and drawings sent in by the entrants
onto our website, www.konfidence.co.uk."
